the read/write library page

Now that I know about patrons' undying love of the Sirsi apps, I'm wondering if we can't offer them similar functions they could love about the website? My favorite idea is sending text reminders about events-- having a "text me!" button next to program listings from providers like TextCaster (which the Shawnee Mission school district uses for parent alerts) or Twttr (which all the cool kids use, apparently) and allow the "physical library" site to be as useful to patrons as the "hardcore library app" Sirsi side.
