Many have too much drilling down to actually get to links. There are dead links. Some pages don’t follow the description – for example: the only hobby is stamp collecting. Some of the pages are geared toward kids and some for adults.

Lots of outdated info on that page - want it to be a partnership site
A page of helpful web applications

-Flickr
-Library Thing
-Bloglines
-etc.

The content is good, but anything on the bottom half of the page is usually lost unless directed there by staff. My recommendation is to customize the web page to make everything we want to fit on a 1024x786 resolution screen so everything is displayed without scrolling.
incorp content/lang that is highly patron centered. i.e. explain in simple, snazzy terms what the library offers
The Online Answer File
(Intranet)
This is a great reference, but is out of date. I realize that Kerry's going through it and updating, and I can't wait until it's current again.
The Central / Branches pages
These are only worthwhile to find out hours/directions and the address. They could be so much more, with specialized content for each branch, virtual tours, event calendars, etc.
The 'My Account' page
The 'My account' page could be dressed up a little bit. It seems pretty plain as it is.

The Reader's Advisory Page (or, if you perfer, "Reader's Corner.) I'm a RA kind of guy and the subject is dear to my heart. The page is a bit cluttered - I really like the column on the right, showing the front cover of a spotlighted booklist - but overall it's not inviting. Larger print, use of colors, etc. would be nice and make it easier for patrons to use.

New logo (already in the works) and slick, professional look and content. focus on timely, up to the minute content. The focus groups will provide useful input

Many patrons have no idea how this page is organized. Because it's all crowded together, they assume there is different information in each section rather than three different ways to navigate the same content. We need an average Jane/Joe patron's help with this.

It needs to be more straight-forward. Too many new screens open or you are required to search again after logging in.
I don't know if this is something that can be changed, but the number of new windows that pop up when trying to use interlibrary loan is maddening.
Events Calendar (2 votes)
Ideally I'd like to have patron program registration through it with a name, email address, and phone number (if they don't have card, we'll give them an app when they come in), but I'd also like to see it easier to navigate, and when displayed on jocolibrary.org, have it display events coming up within the next couple hours so programs scheduled at 10am aren't displayed at 6pm.
The Library Calendar. Empty, stark, and frankly, depressing. I don't think I ever used it, even though it's something that library patrons (and staff!) should be using on a regular basis. This is a great opportunity to be bold and colorful, spotlighting a branch or a class with pictures and blurbs.

I am not picking on this site individually, but generically as an example of pages missing that elan, that spark that makes a page really useful and interesting. I just see black and white blah :(
JoCoHealth
www.jocohealth.net
(ha ha!)
On all of the pages
I think some people have a problem when the pop-out side bar menus flow beneath the bottom of the page. If they try to scroll down without a mouse scroll wheel, they lose the menu. This is especially true for users with lower resolution monitors.
Answers Anytime from main page
Staff may know what this, but Answers Anytime might imply that I don't want to log in and chat now, but I might want to email a question because it's not a high priority. Could Answers Anytime point to contact info for our various points of reference (phone, online, email, fax, etc.) and offer a little blah blah blah about each services (1 to 2 sentences max).

Does anybody really use this? This should be a FUN place, full of neat stuff and links to the latest new cool whatever. Instead, when I click on this page, all I get are a confusing list of categories that freezes me and makes me want to take a nap.

This page name is a misnomer. It's less of an "about" page as it is a directory or mini-site map of miscellany. Like, why is the book sale information here? And why is it a link to the Friends of the Library page but called "library book sales?"

Jerry is in my office now, and I want to share his idea with everyone. He would like us to create some staff picks pages with photos and recommendations by specific staff members and brief annotations--then those could be RSS feeds, too with regular updates from staff. It could even be, "what we're dying to read" lists of new things we're really excited about.
It's all about putting a public face on the the library and showcasing our strenghts! I love it!
Soon we could have library-staff groupies (but only in a good way ;)
